I will be in Kawasaki in April and will go to a couple of matches. I want to go to the away match at Urawa.....what is the best way to go about getting tickets with the Kawasaki supporters?
Hi Geoff,
I believe tickets for the Urawa game on 18th April go on general release on 28th February (@ 10am).
They're likely to disappear extremely quickly (especially if you want to be in the away end), so if you've got someone in Japan who can buy the tickets on your behalf (via one of the methods listed here - http://frontales-uk.blogspot.com/2008/10/is-this-way-to-todoroki.html), your chances will be better.
If that fails, you can always turn up on the day and see if the fans at the stadium have any spares. You'll never have to pay more than face value.
Good luck!
Thanks for the info. In some places the supporters groups deal directly with the front office to organize away support, I didn't realize it was just a general ticket sale. I can get someone to buy them for me in Japan, however, couldn't I just buy them on-line or order by phone?!?
How about tickets for Todoroki? I am thinking of going to the home games on April 24th and May 1st. Is it best to buy tickets in advance? Will these games sell out? Where is the best place to sit in your opinion?
Does Kawasaki Frontale have organized supporters groups or is the supporters group run by the team?
Does
If language and the lack of international delivery are not obstacles, you can by all means buy your own tickets online or by phone.
There are organised coach trips to away games. Look out for "JTBアウェイツアー" announcements on the club's official site. An online form will be made available for you to book your travel and entry to the game. Here's an example - http://mf01.frontale.info/JTB/20100313_nagoya/form/input.php. (NB. eligibility may depend on membership of the official supporters group, especially for a big game like Urawa.)
The official supporters group is called Blue Friends. You can find out more about membership (and perks) here - http://www.frontale.co.jp/blue_friends/top.html
Buying tickets for home games in advance will save you a couple of hundred yen and give you more choice. However, I'd be very surprised if either of the games you mention were sold out.
The best place to sit is a matter of personal preference really. If you want to be in the thick of the jumping and chanting, aim for the lower Home A Zone behind the goal. If you prefer more docile surroundings with a good view (and don't mind paying a bit extra), go for one of the S Zones.
Language and delivery are not a problem. My wife is Japanese and my in-laws live in Kawasaki.
The only problem is that my wife hates football.....lol.
I think I'll try to get my wife to buy tickets for the Urawa match on-line when they go on sale. Hopefully, we can get tickets in the away supporters section.
Thanks again for your help!
Much appreciated.
